E C Walker embarked from Adelaide on 1 July !915 on HMAT Themistocles from Adelaide as a Sergeant with the 27th Infantry Battalion. He was a metallurgy student at the time, studying at School of Mines, Adelaide. His mother, Mrs Ethel Walker of Glenelg was listed as his next of kin. E C Walker had served 2 years in the Citizens Forces prior to enlistment. He served in France. His last rank was Lance Sergeant. He was killed in action at Morlancourt, France. He was 22 years of age.
