At enlistment, H S Tregenza was stated to be a Schoolteacher. he was at Adelaide University studying for a B.A. degree.
His Service Number was 4781.
He embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Wandilla on 15 June 1915 with the Australian Army Medical Corps.
He served in Egypt and Lemnos with the 3rd Australian General Hospital for about a year and went to England in September 1916. He was for a time at the 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital in Kent before being transferred to Infantry and training at Salisbury Plain.
The last unit he served with was 3rd Australian General Hospital.
His father, Edward James Tregenza was his next-of-kin.
