Short description
Letter to University Registrar, dated 7 December 1916, from his father, stating that H W Martin had embarked on HMAT Ulysses from Melbourne on 25 October 1916 and was serving overseas as a Driver with the 7th Reinforcements, 25th Field Artillery Brigade. His family had not heard from him and so had no knowledge of where he was serving at that time.
H W Martin also served as a Major in Intelligence during World War II.
He was admitted to the Bar in 1921; he was known to give legal advice free to those who had served during the World Wars.
