Short description
LG Tassie served in France in 1916-17 with 2 Army General Hospital and 4 Field Ambulance units. He was promoted to Major in 1918. Apart from earning a DSO award in 1918 for his heroic action near Villers-Bretonneux he was also Mentioned in Despatches at the end of the same year. He assumed temporary command of 12 Field Ambulance in early 1919.
During World War II, Tassie served as a Reserve Officer.
