After returning to Australia after his World War I service, H Powell lived at Largs Bay, S.A. and was commissioned as a Surgeon Lieutenant in the RAN Brigade (S.A.)
He was appointed Medical Officer to St Margaret's Hospital at Semaphore in 1933.
