Short description
W J E Philips enlisted on 30 November 1914 at Oaklands Camp, South Australia, when he was a 5th year medical student but he was discharged shortly after to complete his medical degree. He rejoined in September 1915 after completing his medical degree plus 3 weeks of practice at Adelaide Hospital.
He embarked for overseas service in 1915 and worked as RMO, mostly in the Field Ambulance. He was promoted to Major on 10 September, 1918.
