"He spent five weeks in the front line previous to our attack studying the enemy's system and acquiring information which afterwards proved most useful. His keenness in volunteering for every raid or patrol and his fearlessness and untiring energy in collecting information for his brigade have earned the unanimous appreciation and admiration of all Commanding Officer in his Brigade."
