L W Jeffries was appointed Inspector General of Hospitals in South Australia in 1933 and held the post until 1947. He was also Chairman of the Board of the Adelaide Hospital,a member of the Medical Board of South Australia and of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Adelaide.
