Short description
After enlistment in 1915, E W Griffiths embarked for the Middle East from Melbourne in June 1916. After arrival in Egypt he became ill with paratyphoid and returned to Australia. After 3 months' rest he returned to Egypt, and was posted to 14 Australian General Hospital.
He was promoted to Major in 1917 and posted to Details Camp in Moascar.
