Not listed in the Book of Remembrance or Sydney Teacher's College Rolls. Enlisted 4th January 1915, and joined H.M.A. Training ship "Tingira". Sailed as Boy 1st Class on H.M.A.S. "Encounter". Served at Fantome Una, Melbourne, Brisbane, Marguerite, Platypus, Destroyer Flotilla, Sydney and Sleuth. Tookk part in the Malekula punitive Expedition. Was demobilised 31st December, 1924. Rejoined Teaching Service and mobilised as Petty Officer in Charge of Communications convoy.
