S.C.; Ormond; B.C.E.; before enlistment had been on the Government survey at Canberra. Enlisted as Pte. 5th Tun. Coy. February 1916; sailed as 2/Lt. to England in May; Lieut. about July; transf. 4th Pnr. Btn. October 1916. Awarded M.C. June 1917. Died of wounds at Messines Ridge, on 10th June 1917,"after discharging an extremely difficult and dangerous reconnaissance", the result of which was of immense military value.
