Eng. I : Captain, 11th Bde., A.F.A., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 5th September, 1914, in 1st Brigade as second-lieutenant, crossed to France in March, 1916, and was wounded at Pozieres 10th August. Joining 4th Divisional Ammunition Column on 3rd March, 1917, served with n th Artillery Brigade from 23rd till invalided to Australia, arriving 25th September. Promoted lieutenant, 25th June, 1915; captain, 8th July, 1916. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later at St. Paul's College.
