Enlisting 15th August, 1915, and sailing with No. 1 Australian Dermatological Hospital 22nd December, crossed with it from Egypt to Bulford. Transferring to No. 1 A.G.H., Rouen, 18th August, 1917, joined n th Australian Field Ambulance, 2nd November and served until demobilisation. Promoted major, 29th January, 19 17; temporary lieutenant-colonel, 21st January, 1919, and lieutenantcolonel, 7th July. Brought to notice of Secretary of State for War for valuable services rendered. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
