M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., Med. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt and France. Enlisting and sailing with No. 2 Australian General Hospital details, returned in charge of 500 wounded in 1916. Re-embarking as R.M.O. 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column, crossed from Egypt to France and served at Armentieres, Somme and Ypres, returning to Australia in 1918. Mentioned in Despatches.
