Enlisting in February, 1916, and sailing in September, served with 4th Training Battn. at Codford from January to March, 1917, as radiographer and pathologist from April to December and as surgeon, No. 2 Australian General Hospital, Wimereux, until November, 1918, returning for demobilisation. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later at St. Paul's College.
