20.8.14, A.A.M.C., Capt., 2nd Fld. Amb.; sailed 19.10.14; took part in the landing at Anzac 25.4.15; invalided to Lemnos, then to England; returned to Egypt to 3rd A.A.H.; to 14th Fld. Amb. 29.5.16; T Major 3.6.16; to 9th Fld. Amb. 17.10.16; Major 29.11.16; France, R.M.O. 37th Btn., 18.5.17; Despatches 12.7.16.
On 20th May 1917 he was killed in action at Bullecourt.

S.C. and Hawthorn G.S.; former student of Medicine; M.B. Edinburgh.
Enlisted in England at outbreak of war, and gained commission as Surgeon -Lieut. in R.N.V.R.; was on duty on H.M.S. Kale, a T.B.D., in the North Sea until the beginning of May 1915, when he was transferred to a V.A.D. Hospital in Perth, Scotland. After six weeks' duty there he died m June 1915 from double pneumonia, after only two days' illness.
