HOGGART, WILLIAM ROSS. 1902.
Teachers' Coll.; B.A.; on the staff of Melb. H.S. and Warrnambool H.S.; appointed in 1908 to staff of M.C.E.G.S. where, in addition to other duties, he acted as officer in charge of cadets.
9.10.14, appointed Capt. of B. Comp. 14th Btn.; sailed with this unit 22.12.14; served in Egypt, and took part in the landing at Anzac on 25.4.15; two days later he was killed at Gaba Tepe while endeavouring to locate a machine gun that was causing heavy casualties among his men.
