B.Ec. : Private, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt and Palestine. Enlisting 20th March, 1917, and sailing 28th October, joined 4th A.L.H. Field Ambulance at Bela, took part in 2nd Es Salt Raid as despatch rider and bearer, being wounded at Jordan Valley 7th May,* 1918, and evacuated to No. 14 General Hospital, Port Said. On recovery transferred to 12th Regt., was wounded again at Semak, Tiberias Lake (Sea of Galilee) 25th September and invalided to Port Said, Cairo, and finally to Australia by hospital ship, arriving in May, 1919. Discharged from Randwick 23rd April, 1920, but readmitted in May to military ward in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and finally discharged in December. Early education at Fort St. High School.
