Ballarat Coll. and S.C.; Ormond; LL.M.; John Madden Exhibition and Jesse Leggatt Scholarship 1911; final honours March 1914; admitted to bar August 1914.
Enlisted as Pte. 24.11.15; Duntroon Officers' School 25.4.16-21.6.16; Lieut. 9.10.16; appointment terminated (through failure of conscription) 15.12.16; re-enlisted 16.2.17 as Sgt.; Lieut. 5.5.17, attached M.G. Corps; sailed 21.11.17; England 24.1.18; tied for first place in Officers' School examinations; operated on for acute appendicitis 19.4.18; left for France July 1918 and joined 21st Btn.
On 1st September 1918 he was killed instantly by a shell in an attack on Mont St. Quentin. He was buried near Peronne.
