Staff Officer to Major-General Sir James McCay 2.8.14; Capt. 2nd F.A. Bde. 20.8.14; wounded at Gallipoli landing, and afterwards invalided. Returned to Egypt, promoted Major, and formed and trained 53rd Bty. 5th Div. Then to France, wounded at Ypres, and invalided home. Despatches. The youngest officer in Australia holding the V.D. decoration.
