M.B., Ch.M., F.R.A.C.S. : Captain, R.A.M.C., Mesopotamia; also A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting early in 1915, was with R.A.M.C. from 4th April, 1915, to 12th July, 1918. Then transferring to A.A.M.C., served at No. 2 Australian General Hospital, Wimereux, 12th to 24th July, 1918, No. 3 Convalescent Hospital to 7th August and No. 2 A.G.H. till demobilisation. Early education at The King's School. Later at St. Paul's College.
