CARSE, FRANC SAMUEL FALKINER. 1904.
M.C.E.G.S.; Trinity; LL.B.; held a commission in the Field Artillery, and was placed on the Reserve of Officers in 1912; first Chairman of the Liberal Speakers' Association, and a candidate for the Fawkner seat at 1913 Federal elections.
1.5.15, Lieut.; selected for special duty with Artillery, and sent straight Gallipoli (July 1915); invalided to England October 1915; France, with 4th Div. Art., 3. 7. 16; commanded 111th How. Bty., and appointed Battery Captain 21.1.17.
After suppressing a fire in an ammunition dump he was hit, while walking back to his dugout, by a stray shell, and died in the 3rd A.C.C.S. next morning, 2nd May 1917. He was buried in the Grevillers British Cemetery.
