1.3.16, A.A.M.C., Capt.; sailed 16.3.16; to 2nd A.S.H. 16.4.16; to 15th Fld. Amb. 22.4.16; France June 1916; M.O. 59th Btn. 5.5.17; Major 27.4.17; wounded 9.5.17. Mentioned in Orders for gallantry near Menin Road in September 1917. On 16th October 1917, at Tokio Ridge, near Passchendaele, he had established his dressing station in a German pill box; after ordering out his details he remained dressing a wounded man, and a shell burst inside the pill box, fatally wounding him; he died a couple of hours later.
