August 1914, Edinburgh; se rvice in Base Hosp ital, Perthshire; then 2/Lt. 2nd Dragoon Guards (Reserve Regt.) early 1915; to 1st Field Survey Coy. 1st Army B.E.F., France 1915; twice wounded; in middle of 1916 returned to England to finish course and served in Red Cross Hospital in Edinburgh till qualified L.R.C.P. and L.R.C.S. (Ed.). Demob. in London. Returned and att'd A.A.M.C. Reserve as Capt. 1918.
