ROBERTSON, ALEXANDER JOHN. 1905.
St. Andrew's Coll., Bendigo; Ormond; M.Sc.; final honours, with scholarship in Geology and Kernot Research Scholarship; football blue, and in Engineers' winning eight 1909; Sgt. in Junior Cadets, and a good marksman in M.U.R.; Asst. Mineralogist, and afterwards chemist and analyst, in Geological Survey of W.A.
On outbreak of war carried out a military survey near Perth; afterwards trained in Blackboy Camp, and won commission; sailed 6.6.15 to Egypt with nth Btn., then to Gallipoli.
On 7th August 1915, while holding a captured Turkish trench, and repelling a counter-attack, he was shot, and died immediately, aet. 28.
