M.C., B.A. : Chaplain, A.I.F., Palestine. Enlisting 16th October, 1915, and sailing 21st December, served with 2nd A.L.H. Brigade during 1916, returning to Australia 3rd January, 1917. Awarded M.C.* and Mentioned in Despatches. Member of Repatriation Commission, 1920-26. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. *  He rescued a wounded man under heavy fire with great gallantry. Later, he tended and dressed the wounded throughout the operations, displaying great courage and skill.
