Enlisted in August 1915 as Pte. A.A.M.C.; to 3rd A.C.C.S.; eighteen months in France; March 1918 to Queen's Coll., Oxford, as a cadet, training for A.F.C., and passed at the top of the lists.
On 24th August 1918 he was accidentally killed while completing his training.
