McCUTCHAN, FRANK MARSH. 1912.
W.C.; Queen' s; B.E.E. (conferred posthumously); a strong swimmer, a long distance runner, and a fine musician; scoutmaster of a Richmond group; when war broke out instructed members of the Univ. in signalling. Sailed 29.12.15 to report to War Office, being nominated by Commonwealth Government from Australian Universities for a commission in R.E.; sworn in at London February 1916, and went to an O.T.C.; gazetted 2/Lt. 212th Fld. Coy., 33rd Div., R.E.; to France June 1916.
He was hit by a sniper near Arras on 13th May 1917, while laying out lines for a new trench, and died some twenty minutes later. He was buried at Henin, near Arras.
