Enlisting 20th August, 1916, and sailing 9th November as gunner with 8th Reinforcements 4th Divisional Ammunition Column, joined battery as signaller 26th June, 1917, and served until demobilisation. Promoted extra-regimental corporal and, in January, 1919, E.R. sergeant. Tutor in Medicine. Early education at Fort St. High School.
