Sci. I : Captain, 15th and 14th Bdes., A.F.A., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 23rd September, 1914, and sailing with 1st Divisional Ammunition Column reinforcements, joined 5th Field Artillery Brigade in Egypt 18th October, 1915. Transferring to 15th Bde. 12th March, 1916, crossed to France in June and fought at Fleurbaix and the Somme. Joining 14th Bde. (55th Battery) at Ypres 29th July, 1917, served till death. Promoted lieutenant, 15th July, 1915; captain, 5th June, 1916. Killed in Action, near Ypres, 6th August, 1917, and buried in Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery. Early education at Wallsend Public School.
