M.B., Ch.M. : Captain, R.A.M.C., Serbia. Enlisting in London 1st September, 1914, served at Blackdown Barracks with n th Battn. King's Royal Rifle Brigade from 12th October, 1914, to February, 1915, and then, crossing via France to Serbia, proceeded to Malta in June, 1916. Coming on transport duty to Australia with invalids in November, went to Egypt and thence to Malta, finally returning to Australia 7th August, 1917. Awarded Order of St. Sava (Serbia). Early education at The King's and The Armidale Schools. Later at St. Andrew's College, with two years in Arts.
