Enlisting 9th April, 1915, and sailing with No. 3 Australian General Hospital, served with it at Lemnos, Egypt and France. Was attached to 10th Field Artillery Brigade from 29th May, 1916, to 1st and 2nd Australian Field Ambulances and n th Battn. in 1917 and to 1st A.F.Amb., No. 2 Australian Auxiliary and No. 1 Australian Dermatological Hospitals in 1918, serving until demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 28th January, 1916; captain, 28th January, 1917.Early education at The King's School.
