Arts and Med. : Company Sergeant-Major, 26th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and Egypt. Enlisting 14th August, 1914, in A.N. and M.E.F., was discharged 18th September. Re-enlisted the same day in 5th A.L.H. Reinforcements but was discharged after 99 days through sickness. Again enlisting 20th February, 1915, became signaller and joined battn. at Anzac 23rd May. Died of Illness, Tel-el-Kebir Hospital, 1st February, 1916, and was buried in Military Cemetery. Early education at Brisbane Grammar School and Newington College. Later at St. Andrew's.
