B.V.Sc. : Captain, A.A.V.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in December, 1914, as captain and sailing 22nd June, 1915, as Veterinary Officer, 5th Brigade, was attached to 13th Field Artillery Bde. 15th March, 1916, 5th Divisional Ammunition Column, 9th August, and 11th Bde., 9th April, 1917, serving till death. Killed in Action, Messines Ridge, 7th June, 1917, and buried in Kandahar Farm Cemetery, Neuve Eglise. The Baker and Ridley Prize was founded in 1924 by the Veterinary Association of New South Wales. Early education at Kogarah and Cleveland St. Intermediate High Schools and The Scots College.  . . . His life was an exemplary one.
