Econ. II : Corporal, 4th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in August, 1915, arrived in France via Egypt 31st March, 1916, and, after training at Paris Plage Machine Gun School, was in charge of a section at Pozieres, being promoted corporal after the battle and prior to death from shell concussion while resting before going into action again on the morrow. Killed in Action, Pozieres, 31st October, 1916, and buried in Dantzig Alley British Cemetery, Mametz. Early education at Leichhardt Superior Public School.
