B.E.; M.B., Ch.B. (Edin.) : Captain, R.A.M.C., Malta, Egypt, Gallipoli and Salonika; also A.A.M.C., A.I.F., England and France. Enlisting in Edinburgh 17th May, 1915, served with R.A.M.C. till June, 1918, as R.M.O. 3rd Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, at Valetta Military Hospital, Stationary Hospital, Mudros West, 28th General Hospital, Salonika, and 85th Field Ambulance, Struma Valley. Joining A.A.M.C. 14th September, 1918, was at No. 1. Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield and on loan to R.A.M.C., with 141st F.Amb. and R.M.O. 1st South Wales Borderers, returning to Australia for demobilisation. Peter Nicol Russell Scholar. Early education at Brisbane Grammar School. Later at St. John's College.
