Arts : Sergeant, 1st Field Coy., Engineers, A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting 18th August, 1914, and sailing with 1st Division 18th October, was present at Anzac from the Landing till invalided to Australia in November. Re-embarking 1st October, 1916, for England, rejoined 1st Coy. in France 20th April, 1918, and served until demobilisation. Promoted sergeant in Education Service after the Armistice. Early education at Bowral District School. Later at Teachers' College.
