M.B., Ch.M.; D.P.M. (Lond.) : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 15th January, 1916, and sailing 7th March on hospital ship Karoola , served at Details Camps in Egypt and England and crossing to France 2nd September, at No. 2 Australian General and No. 14 British Hospitals, Wimereux. Joining 1st Australian Field Ambulance on n th, was relieving R.M.O. 8th Battn. and then R.M.O. 7th at Ypres. Transferring to 2nd A.F.Amb. 19th October, became R.M.O. 2nd Battn. 2nd November and served at Mametz Wood and advanced dressing stations at Bernafay Wood, Longueval and elsewhere till 9th April, 1917, when appointed R.M.O. 3rd Battn., advancing with it to the Hindenburg Line. Returning to No. 2 A.G.H. 1st March, 1918, transferred to No. 1 at Rouen 1st April and joined 8th A.F.Amb. on 23rd, advancing from Villers-Bretonneux to the Hindenburg Line. Crossing to England in March, 1919, did two months post-graduate work in London and two months as Registrar, No. 3 A.G.H., Dartford, returning for demobilisation. Promoted major, 26th January, 1918. Hon. Demonstrator in Anatomy, 1930-36. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
