Enlisting 1st November, 1915, and sailing with 9th Australian Field Ambulance 25th April, 1916, was attached to 34th Battn. 8th July and 36th on n th May, 1917, being wounded in Messines sector, n th July, 1917. On recovery transferred to 33rd Battn. 15th February 1918, serving until demobilisation. Promoted second-lieutenant, 18th December, 1918; lieutenant, 18th March, 1919.
