Dent. I : Lieutenant, 17th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 11th July, 1915, and sailing with 9th Reinforcements in January, 1916, joined battn. 6th June, serving at Fleurbaix, Pozieres, Somme, where wounded and evacuated to England, and at Bullecourt till death. Promoted second-lieutenant, 1st December, 1915; lieutenant, 17th August, 1916. Killed in Action, Bullecourt, 3rd May, 1917. Commemorated in the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial. Early education at Kempsey Public School.
