LL.M. (Melb.), D.Sc. Econ. (Lond.), Professor of Economics : Captain, 6ist Siege Battery, R.G.A., B.E.F., France. Enlisting in London 10th December, 1915, attended Inns of Court Officers Training Corps till May, 1916, and cadet schools at Exeter and Trowbridge till October, when commissioned. Served with unit in France and Belgium from 22nd October, 1916, to 17th February, 1919, although gassed at Armentieres 9th April, 1918, returning to Australia on demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 28th March, 1918; acting captain, 15th May, 1917. Mentioned in Despatches. Dean of the Faculty of Economics. Final Scholarship, History and Political Economy, Wyselaskie Scholar, Constitutional History, Final Scholarship, Law and Harbison- Higinbotham Scholar, Melbourne University.
