M.B.; F.R.C.S. (Edin.), F.R.A.C.S. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France and England. Enlisting in March, 1916, and sailing 1st May, joined 9th Australian Field Ambulance and was put in charge of an advanced dressing station. Was severely wounded in October, 1917, at Passchendaele, invalided to Wandsworth Hospital and on recovery served at No. 2 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Southall, until demobilisation. Promoted major, 27th April, 1917. Mentioned in Despatches. Hon. Consulting Orthopaedic Surgeon, Hospital for Sick Children, Brisbane. Early education at Christian and Marist Brothers' High Schools, Lewisham and Darlinghurst.
