From Jane Marks family member - "attended Sydney Uni for 4 years studying medicine. In 1913 - 14 he matriculated to Edinburgh Uni where he studied medicine. At this matriculation he was said to have no degrees. He was said to have gone to Edinburgh to separate him from another medical student with whom he had got into trouble at the 1912 SU commemoration celebrations"

Med. I : Lieutenant, R.F.A., B.E.F., France. Enlisting in England, was commissioned in Artillery 25 th November, 1914, and crossing to France served till death. Promoted lieutenant, 15th March, 1916. Killed in Action, Bapaume, 29th October, 1916, and buried in Bapaume Post Military Cemetery, Albert.
