C.M.G., D.S.O., V.D., M.D., Ch.M., F.R.C.S. (Eng. et Edin.), F.C.O.G., F.R.A.C.S., Demonstrator in Anatomy : Colonel, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France; also A.N. and M.E.F., New Guinea. Enlisting n th August, 1914, and sailing on 18th, served at New Guinea, being promoted major 12th October and appointed P.M.O., British Administration. Returning 16th January, 1915, was appointed in February, Staff Officer Medical Services, Victoria, and in July, S.O., D.G.M.S., Defence H.Q., Melbourne. Promoted lieutenant-colonel and to command 9th Australian Field Ambulance in February, 1916, raised and took it overseas with 3rd Division 11th May and served at Armentieres, Ploegsteert, Messines, Warneton and Passchendaele. In January, 1918, was promoted colonel and appointed Acting D.M.S, 3rd Division, remaining in office until demobilisation in April, 1920. Awarded D.S.O. 3rd June, 1918, and Mentioned in Despatches four times. A.M.F. : Colonel and D.D.M.S., Sydney Base, 1921-34. Fellow of the Senate, 1934-. Lecturer in Clinical Gynaecology and Hon. Demonstrator in Anatomy
