M.B., Ch.M., F.R.C.S. (Edin.), LL.D. (Padua), Lecturer in Clinical Surgery: Lieutenant-Colonel, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., England and France. Sailing 21st August, 1915, as O.C. No. 10 Australian General Hospital, was appointed Surgical Specialist at 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, remaining there until March, 1916. Then sent to No. 2 Australian Casualty Clearing Station at Trois Arbres near Armentieres until invalided to England and Australia, arriving in January, 1917. Thereafter served at Randwick Hospital till the end of 1918 when duty was again given up owing to health reasons. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
