B.E., Demonstrator in Engineering : Lieutenant, 4th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli. Enlisting as second-lieutenant 16th January, 1915, and sailing with 3rd Reinforcements 11th February, served at the Anzac Landing and until wounded 5th June, 1915, and evacuated to. No. 2 Australian General Hospital, Ghezireh. On recovery returned to battn. and served till death. Killed in Action, Lone Pine, 7th August, 1915, and buried in Lone Pine Cemetery, Anzac. Second-lieutenant, S.U. Scouts. Peter Nicol Russell, and William and Jane Graham Scholar. Early education at Ballina Public and Sydney High Schools. Later at Technical College and Mort's Dock.
