M.B., Ch.M. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., England and France. Enlisting 8th April, 1916, was appointed S.M.O. at Menangle Camp and, sailing 22nd August, served at Salisbury Plain. Was appointed R.M.O. 4th Field Artillery Brigade and, crossing to France 14th December, joined it on the Somme and served till death. Killed in Action, Vaulx-Vraucourt, near Bapaume, 10th April, 1917, and buried in Vaulx Hill Cemetery. Early education at Manly Public and Sydney Grammar Schools.  Qui procul hinc ante diem periit, sed miles sed pro patria.
