M.B.E., M.B., Ch.M., F.R.A.C.S. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt, France and England. Enlisting 16th September, 1915, and sailing 14th October as M.O., transport  Port Lincoln, joined No. 2 Australian General Hospital, Ghezireh. Sent to No. 4 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Abbassia, in January, 1916, returned to No. 2 A.G.H. in March, and went with it to Camp Moussot, Marseilles, and in June to Boulogne. Joining 6th Australian Field Ambulance in August, served with it till 12th February, 1917, when transferred to No. 2 A.A.H., Southall, remaining there till August, 1919, and returning as S.M.O. transport  Argyllshire  in September. Awarded M.B.E. 7th June, 1918, and  Brought to the notice of the Secretary of State for War for valuable services rendered. Early education at Brisbane Grammar School. Later at St. Paul's College.
