M.C., M.B., Ch.M. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 19th May, 1916, joined 2nd Australian Field Ambulance 21st December, serving as M.O. 2nd Field Artillery Brigade from 1st February, 1917, in the Somme and Ypres sectors till death. Promoted major, 12th June, 1917. Awarded M.C.* and Mentioned in Despatches. Killed in Action, near Ypres, 22nd July, 1917, and buried in Reninghelst New Military Cemetery. Early education at Cooerwull Academy. Later at St. Andrew's College. *  During hostile shelling two ammunition dumps were set on fire, also causing several casualties. He immediately went to the assistance of the wounded, and, regardless of heavy shell-fire and numerous explosions, dressed their wounds.
