M.B., Ch.M. : Lieutenant-Colonel, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt, France and England. Appointed to No. 2 Australian General Hospital 17th October, 1914, and sailing to Egypt on hospital ship  Kyarra  4th December, returned 4th May, 1915. Re-embarking as M.O. transport  Orsova, 14th July, returned on hospital ship  Karoola  4th December. Sailing again 6th March, 1916, joined 12th Australian Field Ambulance 13th April, being R.M.O. 46th Battn. from September to December. Then returning to Ambulance, remained with it till 10th March, 1918, when transferred to 4th A.F.Amb., being R.M.O. 15th Battn. from May to July. Appointed S.M.O. Hurdcott area 30th July and to No. 3 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 28th January, 1919. Early education at Dubbo Public School and Cooerwull Academy.
